Generators
What do you need power for?
This is the most important matter when choosing a generator.
You need to add up the watts or amps listed on the units that you need to power. If you need them all running at once, you will have to purchase a generator with a continuous KVA output slightly above the total. If this puts you into a category that is more than you wish to spend, see if you can get by running only certain things at the one time.
There are many different generators to choose from. Some have a 1:1 parity. This means their KVA rating is their continuous power output. Some have a .8 parity which means their continuous output is only 80% of their KVA rating.
